Northumberland Referrals is a new independent veterinary referral practice, founded by vets with years of clinical and referral experience between them. We exist to do referrals the way we always wanted it done: focused, honest, and built around the close relationships and easy processes that make referrals work.

We are currently offering specialist-led neurology and neurosurgery, plus elective orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Operating from Coquet Vets in Amble, with on-site MRI. Led by RCVS & EBVS Recognised Specialists in Neurology, Jonathan Deacon and Jos Bongers.
Our new hospital opens early 2027
A purpose-built referral facility adjacent to Coquet Vets. Adding 24/7 emergency and critical care, a dedicated ICU, full diagnostic imaging, expanded orthopaedic and soft tissue services, and a wider team of Specialists and Advanced Practitioners.

Hemilaminectomy - Including consult, general anaesthetic, MRI, surgery, two nights hospitalisation and two weeks post-operative medication. £5,000
Ventral slot decompression - Including consult, general anaesthetic, MRI, surgery, two nights hospitalisation and two weeks post-operative medication. £5,500
Outpatient MRI - Including consult, general anaesthetic and contrast with external imaging report. £2,200
Seizure investigation with IETF Tier II confidence – Including consult, general anaesthetic, MRI, contrast, CSF analysis. £2,600
TPLO – Including consult, GA, surgery, two weeks post-operative medication. £3,000
TTT - Including consult, GA, surgery, two weeks post-operative medication. £2,500
